Our range of inspiration is from Alice’s favourite locations in Yorkshire and each shoe aims to represent a feel for the area.

Who are we?

Firstly, we are one of the UK’s largest independent retailers. Established in 1904, we have safely survived two world wars, many economic recessions and most recently (hopefully) the COVID-19 pandemic. We aim to offer a varied selection of shoes for ladies, men and children from across the globe. Above all, we aim for quality and sustainability within our products and want to make it our goal that people step away from fast fashion to buy quality footwear to last a lifetime.

Now in our 4th generation, Watkinsons remains a family run business. We aim to empower the high-street try to keep everything in our store to the highest of standards. We are now offering children’s appointment services to allow the best level of service from our expert team.
