Adapting To The Pandemic

As an independent, family-run retailer I wanted to share how we at Watkinsons have adapted to the COVID-19 pandemic. Even on the darkest of days and during the hardest of times for retail, Watkinsons has managed to retain a way of surviving during lockdown 3 and adapting to the needs of our loyal customers.

Firstly, we have launched a new website with the majority of our shoe collections available to be purchased online. Our favourite ladies, men’s and children’s collections are available to purchase online. We try to ensure that our shoes are dispatched within 24 hours of order! Our first few months online has been sought after and very successful! We have been able to do what we do best- providing shoes to the nation!

We are offering free UK delivery on all our online products!

We are continuously adding and updating men’s, ladies and children’s products both online and ready for when our store re-opens such that we are able to move with the times and provide the right shoes for everyone!

When we have been allowed to open our doors, we have continuously ensured that our premises our covid secure with appropriate measures, screens and PPE in place.

Since July 2020, we have been offering a very successful and covid secure children’s appointment service to ensure safety and bespoke children’s shoe requirements are fulfilled by our expert team.

We have launched and developed our own Watkinsons Heritage Collection, inspired by our favourite locations in Yorkshire. See if your town or city is a part of our Heritage Collection, we think that our shoes and personally designed collection reflects the personality of the most beautiful Yorkshire towns including Harrogate, York, Beverley, Scarborough, Malton, the Yorkshire Wolds and many more.

We continuously work on our social media accounts and personally take photographs to ensure that we are providing our audience with the best content taken by real people rather than using generated images. We also love to see our customers photographs and will be providing a £10 discount voucher on the next pair of shoes if you share an image and tag us in our social media accounts! We try to showcase both the best shoes possible and the best sights available in Yorkshire.

Finally, and most importantly, we have learnt the strength of our community and how your incredible support has enabled us to continue throughout the pandemic.
